In addition to the Poetry Out Loud competition, UAA's Department of Creative Writing and Literary Arts also sponsors a series of
writing workshops for high school students.

Workshops in Poetry, Fiction, and Nonfiction Essay will be led by real live creative writing graduate students who want nothing more students make the most of their words. All 1-2 hour workshops will be held the weekend of February 10, 2007 at UAA.
Teachers, peers, and parents, please encourage students to participate. The more writers, the more everyone learns!
The Application Process:
Application is open to enrolled high school students, at the cost of $10 per student.

The application deadline is February 1, 2007. As the workshop date approaches, individual instructors will be in touch with participating students regarding workshop content and materials.
