Submission Information
We are now accepting submissions for the 2012 issue of Understory
All submissions, be they prose, poetry, or artwork, must be sent to us electronically.
Each student may submit a maximum of 6 entries total, across all forms
(prose, poetry, visual arts), for consideration.
Your submission must include your contact information in the body of your email so that we can contact you in the event
your work is selected for the journal. Please include your first and last name and the best way to get in touch with you.
Students may submit a maximum of six submissions across formats. Please contact us (using the
uaa_understory@uaa.alaska.edu
address) with questions about substitutions should you submit six
and want to withdraw a piece from consideration in place of another.
Each submission must be in its own file. For
example, if you wish to submit three poems, please seperate
them into seperate files:
Jill Smith - This Poem.doc, Jill Smith - That Poem.doc, and Jill Smith - The Other Poem.doc
We ask for your consideration in separating your work into
different files so that each of your submissions can be given fair consideration.
A note about file names:
Please include your full name (First Name and Last Name)
and the title of your work in the
file name of your submission.
For example, a prose submission would appear as:
Jill Smith - Untitled Story.doc
While a visual arts picture should appear as:
Joe Smith - Picture.jpg
